The pacy midfielder is moving after three years with Lakers.
His departure further depletes Lake Wendouree’s core of experienced players who took it to the top of the Ballarat league ladder two years in a row.
Bucknall is a former Maryborough captain and was the Magpies’ best and fairest in 2013.
He had an immediate impact at Lake Wendouree in 2015, being joint best and fairest.
Lake Wendouree’s major gains to date are Creswick brothers Caleb and Simon Hepworth, and Navarre duo Josh Fowkes and Josh Driscoll as it builds to cover the loss of key players including Nick Peter, Ben Hayes, Lucas Anderson, Nathan Monk and now Bucknall.
Coby Perry has also committed to his home club Maryborough after two years in the VFL with the now disbanded North Ballarat Roosters.
