Chevy goes missing at Werribee Gorge, police launch investigation

Thieves pounced and stole a Chevrolet when its owner was on a hike at Werribee Gorge recently.

It’s believed the victim parked the 4WD on Ironbark Road at the entry to Falcons Lookout about 10.30am on January 6.

But when they returned more than two hours later it had vanished about 1pm.

Police called on any witnesses on the day to come forward.

“It was a very hot day last Saturday and most people would recall where they were on the day,” officers said.

“Police are wanting to know if anyone saw this vehicle on the day and might have witnessed suspicious behaviour at the time.”
