A knee injury to Mt Clear batsman Brandon Walsh forced a premature end to a Ballarat Cricket Association twenty20 match on Tuesday night.

Walsh was left lying on the ground after he “popped” a knee cap when turning for a second run late in a run-chase against North Ballarat at the Western Oval.
Mt Clear captain Darcy Thomson said with Walsh in a lot of pain they were not prepared to move him – choosing to wait for the arrival of paramedics.
He said Walsh’s welfare was naturally the number priority.
Thomson said with the game out of Mt Clear’s reach – it was 7-65 in reply to 7-126 with 3.4 overs remaining – and with light likely to become an issue they agreed to concede.
Thomson said with Mt Clear out of the finals race, there was no purpose in trying to prolong the game.
The two points enabled North Ballarat to claim fourth position and a berth in the Major League T20 Cup semi-finals on Sunday, when the final will also be played.
Napoleons-Sebastopol finished on top after going through the three rounds unbeaten.
Darley was also undefeated in second, with Wendouree third
Darley survived a scare from Brown Hill, getting the winning runs with four balls to spare.
Ballarat defeated Golden Point, but missed out on finals on percentage.
