New fencing, an automatic irrigation system and sub-surface drainage are also part of the extensive redevelopment.
According to City of Ballarat, all City Oval redevelopment works are on track to be completed by the start of the 2018 BFL Season.
An upgrade to the oval’s lighting, which will include new lighting towers, is expected to be delivered this year. The changes will enable local night matches to be played at the oval.
The current redevelopment will bring the venue in line with surface works already complete at Alfredton Oval, Marty Busch Reserve (Sebastopol), CE Brown Reserve (Lake Wendouree) and Mars Stadium.
