Grass at the overflow car park across the road from ALDI is well over one metre high in parts, with some growth coming up to the windscreen of vehicles.
Cars are being forced to park against the grass which surrounds the bitumen.
Ballarat commuter Paul Ryan told The Courier “parking at the V/Line Car park opposite ALDI is now only possible when there is not an overgrown tree or bush in the way”.
All of western Victoria was covered by a total fire ban on Friday as the mercury soared past 40 degrees, with a grassfire near Waubra burning about 40 hectares of land.
While the car park is owned by VicTrack, V/Line is responsible for its maintenance as the tenant.
V/Line was contacted for comment but failed to respond to the request by deadline.
