The Kookaburras handed top team Bareena just its second defeat of the campaign with a 105-93 triumph on its home green in Ballarat.
Skipper Ian Warner and his rink had a big hand in the overall result, with the Kookaburras combination scoring a thumping 37-14 triumph over the Bareena outfit led by Brannon Shelton.
Sebastopol’s other rink win came courtesy of Glenn Sargent and his line-up, which prevailed by a solitary shot.
Bareena snared one rink in the defeat, with the other ending as a draw.
Sebastopol wasn’t able to climb any positions on the ladder with the result, but kept its place inside the four ahead of Lara.
Bareena remains at the top of the table, 21 points clear of second-placed Ocean Grove.
Warner said the Kookaburras had been missing key players in recent rounds, but were close to full strength on Saturday.
He said it was a big result for his side’s finals hopes, particularly given it has a very difficult road trip to Queenscliff next weekend.
Top bowler Simon Cornock is expected to return for that clash.
Sebastopol holds just a three-point margin on fifth-placed Lara, which produced a big performance to beat the Grovers on Saturday.
In other games, Eastern Park lifted itself out of the bottom two with victory over Ballarat Memorial Sports, Queenscliff was far too good for City of Geelong and Victoria defeated Webbcona.
