It’s believed the 13-year-old and 15-year-old used a cigarette lighter to spark the blaze along Spencer Street in Canadian about 5.30pm on Saturday.
An anonymous caller saw the fire and immediately dialled a triple-0 operator, who sent in firefighters to the scene.
CFA crews managed to contain the blaze after it tore through 10 metres of grass before they notified police.
Officers arrested the two boys within the vicinity and issued them with official cautions in relation to arson offences.
They were also referred to the CFA’s Juvenile Fire Awareness and Intervention Program, or JFAIP, which is aimed at children who have engaged in fire lighting or are considered to be at risk of this behaviour.
The incident comes a year after another two boys were cautioned for separate fires at Sebastopol's Marty Busch Reserve in January, 2017.
