Ballarat City development and planning director Angelique Lush said in a statement "the City of Ballarat Fireworks Display will continue as planned, with the pyrotechnics contractor liaising closely with emergency services to monitor weather conditions and to alter the fireworks display accordingly if needed”.
“This year’s fireworks will feature a new multi-level display of pyrotechnics, which will be discharged from a number of pontoons on Lake Wendouree,” the statement read.
“Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic, or enjoy the delicious selection of local food vendors.”
