The Australia Day Parade celebrates Victoria's cultural diversity and will feature participants from over 80 community and cultural groups.
Official Flag Raising Ceremony: 10.30am to 11am, Melbourne Town Hall, Swanston Street, Melbourne
The flag-raising ceremony marks the beginning of Victoria's official Australia Day celebrations. Following the raising of the flag, attendees will be invited to participate in the Australia Day Affirmation - the ceremony concluding with the national anthem.
RACV Australia Day Festival in Kings Domain Gardens: 11am to 4pm, Kings Domain Gardens, St Kilda Road, Melbourne
Following the Australia Day Parade, The RACV Australia Day Festival continues the theme of Victoria's diversity. There will be free family activities, displays from a broad range of community groups and a showcase of vintage and classic cars.
Highlights include a free Peppa Pig family show at 11.15am and 1pm, a food truck park and kids yoga.
Australia Day at Docklands: 6pm to 9.30pm, Harbour Esplanade, Docklands
In the evening, Harbour Esplanade will feature roaming artists, entertainment and plenty of food trucks. The family-friendly celebration will conclude with a fireworks display at 9pm.
Australia Day at Government House: 9.30am to 3.30pm (queue closes at 3:00pm), Government House, Government House Drive, Melbourne
Victoria's historic Government House and its garden will open to the public as part of Australia Day celebrations.
Tours, roving performances and children's activities are all on offer.
Australia Day at the Shrine of Remembrance
The Shrine will mark the beginning of Australia Day with a 21-gun salute at midday, at the lower shrine forecourt. There will also be a roulette flyover at 2pm, followed by a wreath laying and flag lowering on the forecourt at 5pm.
Australia Day at the Australian Open
Australia's favourite rap duo Bliss n Eso headline the party at the AO Live Stage, while Dylan Joel will open proceedings. Beau Woodbridge, 15-year-old son of Todd Woodbridge, will sing the national anthem to mark Australia Day on Rod Laver Arena before the men's semi-finals.
Australia day at Brighton Beach: 9am-12pm, Brighton Beach
Hundreds of participants will be taking place in the Great Australia Day Swim, an ocean swim to kick off celebrations for the weekend. Australian Olympic Swimmer Mack Horton will join locals in the water.
