Paper giant Visy has told several local councils in Victoria it will stop accepting recycling products on February 9 due to China's Australian waste ban, which could leave reusable rubbish with no place to go.
"We've seen with a small number of councils, I think about eight or nine, their collector has been advised by the recycler Visy that they won't take any more product from them," Municipal Association of Victoria CEO Rob Spence told ABC Radio on Thursday.
