Live country music and children’s entertainment added to the festival-like feel at Ballarat Polocrosse Grounds.
This year’s event raised funds and awareness for mental health in rural communities with gate-takings to support Beyond Blue, Survivors of Suicide Ballarat and the newly launched Dolly’s Dream, raising anti-bullying awareness after 14-year-old Amy “Dolly” Everett took her own life early last month.
Dolly’s family is well-known in the rodeo community.
A small band of animal welfare protesters made their mark outside the event.
