Kyle Frew was recovering with a broken collarbone on Sunday, a day after being carefully stretchered out in a high-angle rope rescue from dense bushland.
Mr Frew had been riding with friends on Saturday morning when the track they were riding came up to a gully.
Each rider had surveyed the downhill section first but it was likely Mr Frew unexpectedly hit a rock.
“Pretty much straight away we knew something was wrong,” Mr Frew said.
“We decided I had to stay still and wait for the ambulance...My shoulder took all the force."
Paremedics and police were called to come to his aid about 10.30am and while the Air Ambulance was initially called, it was unable to reach Mr Frew through foliage and in windy conditions.

In a combined emergency services operation, Ballarat State Emergency Services four-wheel-drives and fire fighters were called on.
Ballarat Health Services Base Hospital later cleared Mr Frew of serious head and chest injury.
