Buninyong just hanging on as finals draw near

Buninyong is clinging to a spot in the division one midweek pennant bowls finals series by the skin of its teeth.

The side was dealt a four-shot defeat at the hands of Midlands Golf on Monday, with its rivals now equal on points with just one home and away round to play.

Midlands Golf claimed the 75-71 result on home soil and took two of the three rinks in the process.

Buninyong is just ahead and inside the top four on shot difference.

Elsewhere, City Oval kicked further clear at the top of the Ballarat District Bowls Division table.

The pacesetters thrashed Ballarat Memorial Sports, winning 102-34.

Creswick suffered defeat at the hands of Central Wendouree, which took all 16 points available from the contest.

The Wickers have dropped to third spot on the ladder.

In other games on Monday, Sebastopol enjoyed a strong win over Avenue and Daylesford took all of the points in the game against Smeaton.
