“Emergency services are currently on scene of a car crash in Cressy.
It is believed a vehicle was travelling west along the Hamilton Highway when it veered off the road just before 9.30am.
The vehicle rolled a number of times before crashing into a stone fence and bursting into flames.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 92-year-old Drysdale man, died at the scene.
Fire did spread to nearby grassland as a result of the crash and was extinguished by emergency crews.
Police are currently on scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.”
10.55AM: A serious crash started the fire, which is now under control.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area and to listen to instructions from emergency services on site.
The full extent of the injuries are not yet known.
It is not know how long the highway will be closed.
10.26AM: An advice warning has been issued as 14 fire trucks respond to a fire on the Hamilton Highway in Cressy.
The fire is not yet under control.
The Hamilton Highway is closed in both directions in Cressy, due to a collision and the fire in the area.
VicRoads urges people to avoid the area or delay travel, and obey instructions from emergency services on site.
An advice warning for the fire has been issued for Cressy, Rokewood, Weering and Werneth.
It says there is currently no threat to communities, but urges people nearby to stay informed and monitor conditions.
