The Vikings earned promotion to state league three last year and the inclusion of Lee Stevens, Simo Mitrovic and Paul McClounan adds further class and depth to the squad.
The trio bring a variety of attributes – which is what coach Corey Smith was after when he began his recruiting campaign.
Stevens, 33, has a wealth of experience.
The Englishman played his junior soccer with South Hampton and has represented England youth teams.
The striker, who has state league one credentials, is a key position player and will provide a dangerous target up front.
Also bringing plenty of experience is McClounan.
McClounan is capable of playing a number of roles with Smith expecting him to play in the front third.
While Smith described Mitrovic as an “explosive” winger, the youngsters pace is sure to be valuable to the Vikings this season.
“I think they all bring different things to the side,” Smith said.
“I’m pretty happy with he squad that we’ve already built, so the main focus was to sign players that can bring something different to the team.
“Paul and Lee, in particular, bring experience...all three are attacking players.”
A month out from round one, Smith said there was still plenty to work on, with the fitness levels of the group still being built-up while it is still honing in on the tactical side of things.
“I’m happy with where we’re at at the moment. I think we’re looking better at this stage this year than we were this stage last year.
“But in saying that we’re still a long way out from the start of the season.”
Smith is still looking to add a couple more players to the squad.
Vikings will face Fawkner in the season opener on March 24.
