Spring Creek’s David Chapman said the farm gate shop and farmers’ markets were becoming increasingly popular and this was another way for people to enjoy and learn about produce.
“This is the first time we’re doing it, so it is a bit of a trial but people are really keen to know where their produce is from,” Mr Chapman said.
Spring Creek Organics is teaming with the nearby Yendon Gourmet Tomatoes, who will simultaneous host a strawberry picking day, so people can load up on vegetables then pick their dessert.
Organic veggies are also for sale from Spring Creek’s farm gate shop. Entry is free, cash sales only, and people are encouraged to bring their own bags to collect their harvest.
Corn Day is at Spring Creek Organics in Navigators on Sunday, 10am-4pm. Yendon Gourmet Tomatoes’ strawberry picking is 1-4pm.
