AN elderly Ballan driver was taken to hospital after his car swerved into the wrong lane on the Western Freeway last night and was hit from behind by a truck.
Bacchus Marsh senior constable Luke Wraight said the 79-year-old was driving east in a slowing-moving car at 1.40am when he veered into the other lane near Ballan.
"A truck's collected it from behind and pushed it into the grass shoulder," he said.
"Fatigue could have been a causing factor.
"He didn't receive any injuries but he was taken to hospital for observation."
