The BMS outfit had been outside the drop zone for much of the campaign, but finished inside the bottom two positions when it mattered.
BMS was second last heading into the weekend’s final home and away round of the season and needed victory against Webbcona to lift it up the table.
However, Webbcona proved far too good on its home green, winning 122-66 to maintain eighth spot on the ladder.
City of Geelong is the other team relegated from the premier division, but ended a horror 2017-18 season with a surprise one-shot win over Lara on Saturday.
There was another vitally important encounter in Ballarat on Saturday between Sebastopol and Victoria.
And it was the Kookaburras that emerged triumphant to confirm their place in finals.
Sebastopol managed to hold on to fourth position with a 104-84 success against the fifth-placed Victoria.
That means the Kookaburras will line up against Ocean Grove in the semi-finals next weekend.
On Saturday, the Grovers were beaten by Queenscliff, which secured the minor premiership narrowly over Bareena.
The two rivals will meet in a semi-final encounter next weekend.
