Residents report hearing ‘big bang’ across Daylesford region

Did you hear a loud bang this morning?

Hundreds of residents have taken to social media across the Daylesford region, saying the windows of houses shook after a big boom about 10am.

However, a spokeswoman for Geoscience Australia, which monitors earthquakes, said no earth tremors were recorded today.

“We can confirm there was no seismic activity in the area this morning,” she said.

In January, a mine blast at a quarry in Dunnstown triggered an earthquake alert.

More to come.
