The classic rock ’n’ roll musical sees a cast of over 500 performers from around the state take part in a show that promises to leave you longing for those Summer Nights.
Among the cast are 10 youngsters from the Ballarat Centre of Music and the Arts: Daisy Donovan-Clancy, Kaelyn Pynn, Thomas Jenkins, Chelsea McCumber, Ella Harrison, Isobel O’Loughlin, Annie Elliott, Tess Jirik, Karli Drew and Lani Keevins.
The group all auditioned for their roles in August last year and after a series of boot camps in Melbourne, are ready to hit the stage at Hisense Arena.
BCMA director Paula Heenan said she was proud to have so many involved in the production.
She said the Ballarat cast included performers aged 9-16.
“It’s a huge thing to be involved in,” she said. “I understand over 2000 people auditioned and we’re always encouraging our students to get out and do as many auditions as they can.
“The kids have done a lot of rehearsals and it involved singing, dancing and acting which we encourage all our students to get involved with.
“I’m so proud of the students, but also the families who have supported them all the way in being a part of this.”
Grease The Arena Show is at Hisense Arena for four shows only from April 13-15. Tickets are available for Ticketek.
