As it has in the first grade, Golden Point has been the standout team in the seconds – losing just one match.
But it had to pinch victory from the jaws of defeat in its preliminary final clash with Ballarat-Redan.
The Pointies posted 190 on the board and The Combine looked destined to advance to the grand final at 8-189 – but Golden Point was not done with yet.
Bailey Van De Heuvel had the ball and the match in his hands, two wickets in two balls quickly turned him into the hero – Golden Point winning by one run.
Van De Heuvel taking 5-51 in a match-winning display.
Dunnstown defeated Ballan by 126 runs last week and has come from third in its odds pool to make the grand final.
Towners captain Ben Collins will be the prized scalp on the weekend with his last four outings producing scores of 152, 91, 185 and 68.
The grand final’s two days will be played over Saturday and Sunday.
