ENROLMENT numbers at Ballarat's newest primary school have tripled in the past year.Mt Clear's Emmaus Primary School opened its doors last year with 21 pupils. After finishing 2008 with 32 pupils, it will kick start the new school year next Thursday with 67 pupils."Enrolments have well and truly bloomed," school principal Brendan Maher said. The Catholic primary school is currently operating from a temporary site in Jones Ave.Mr Maher said the construction of the school's new buildings in Geelong Rd was an "important catalyst" behind the boost in pupil numbers."It just proves there is a strong level of interest in the community," he said. This week, a roadway into the school was constructed and roofs were put into place."It's all systems go," Mr Maher said.Stage one of the school will be home to four learning spaces, an administration area, and a learning mall. The project - which is being carried out by Ballarat Civic Construction and Butler Excavations - is due for completion in May this year. However, classes will not be held at the Geelong Rd site until the start of term three in July.
