SES on weather stand-by

BALLARAT's State Emergency Service volunteers will remain on stand-by this week, as severe thunderstorms and damaging winds are expected across the region.The SES attended six call-outs in Ballarat during Monday night's rainfall, mainly for flooding.The Bureau of Meteorology predicted another 25mm to fall in the city last night, with more later this week. People are advised to keep clear of fallen powerlines, secure loose objects around the home, stay indoors, and avoid parking or sheltering under trees.Meanwhile, Emergency Services Minister Bob Cameron yesterday announced $3.2 million funding for Victorian SES units.For emergency help, call the SES on 132 500.
