WATER sports returned to Lake Wendouree last night, when two Ballarat men canoed across the water.Lenny Cain and Martin Forster braved the chilly weather, canoeing from the start of the rowing course to the end in 50 minutes.Mr Cain said they came up with the idea at darts last Thursday night at the Millers Arms Hotel."We wanted to be the first ones to cross the new rowing course," he said."We got stuck in the middle, but I refused to get out and get wet."The pair pushed through, and despite never having canoed the lake when it was full, made it to the end.Family and friends were there to cheer them on."We've made history now," they said.
