ALL signs are good for a November 12 official opening of the new $65 million St John of God Hospital.Prominent signage went up this week as the new Drummond St Nth reception area gets ready to open its doors.The final touches to the new chapel, plus landscaping and carparking, are all expected to be completed by H.Troon Pty Ltd in the next few weeks.St John of Hospital redevelopment director Diane Sartori said community support throughout the redevelopment had been "phenomenal"."The public has been fantastic in navigating their way around the temporary entrances," Ms Sartori said."We can reassure them it's not much longer now, only a few weeks.""We've also had glowing reports about how good Bailey's Mansion looks now the old ward building has gone."Ms Sartori said the new signs would make the permanent Drummond St Nth entrance easy to find.She said a stained glass window designed by Bruce Hutton and depicting the story of St John of God in Ballarat would also be installed in the chapel in the next few weeks."It will be a pretty special space."Works on the new cafe and its courtyard are also being completed, as the temporary facility is currently located in the main ground floor corridor.Air handling units are also being upgraded by local contractor B. E. Trevena & Sons.The former 56-year-old hospital was completely demolished in June, with the new facility opening to patients in February with a temporary Mair St entrance.
