Ballarat weather: clear skies forecast for Christmas Day

SUNNY skies are forecast in Ballarat on Christmas Day, according to forecasters.weatherzone.com.au meteorologist Josh Fisher said Ballarat was more likely to see increasing sunshine, with temperatures around the low to mid 20s.He said possible drizzle expected on Christmas morning in the south-west was more likely to be closer to the coast."We'll be seeing south to south-westerly winds coming in, which will bring drizzle, before a high pressure system will nudge in, clearing it out," Mr Fisher said."We can expect temperatures around 23C."Ballarat residents may need to take a brolly when doing their last-minute shopping on Christmas Eve, with showers more likely."That's when the south-westerly winds are coming in, bringing more of a chance of a shower, with temperatures in the low to mid 20s," Mr Fisher said.People can wind down from Christmas with warm weather on Boxing Day.It is forecast to be a mostly sunny day, with warmer temperatures in the mid to high 20s, due to the northerly wind.Meanwhile, 11.8mm of rain fell in Ballarat yesterday, with temperatures dropping to 11.9C at 5pm. It came as a cold front passed through the region, after Tuesday's temperatures of 34.5C.Across the south-west yesterday, 24.8mm of rain fell at Mt William in the Grampians, along with 24.8mm at Westmere.In Warrnambool, 20.4mm of rain fell, with 33.4mm at Aireys Inlet.
