A FORMER University of Ballarat student will don big hair and sequins to star alongside the first So You Think You Can Dance winner when the musical Hairspray makes its Australian stage debut in Melbourne later this year. Jaz Flowers, 22, takes on her first lead role in a major musical as Tracy Turnblad, the plump teenager who realises her dream of dancing on her favourite TV show in 1960s America. She will be joined in the musical by Jack Chambers, the first winner of So You Think You Can Dance in 2008, who plays her love interest Link Larkin. "I've been waiting my entire life to have a lead in a professional musical and to be given the privilege of being Tracy Turnblad, it's out of this world," Ms Flowers said.
