A drink driver with barely any rubber left on his tyres while more than four times over the blood alcohol limit has highlighted a terrible night of drink driving on Ballarat’s roads.

The Sebastopol man was intercepted at 1am today after driving from Clunes to Ballarat on tyres which had hardly any rubber left on the rims.
He underwent a breath test and returned a reading of 0.225% – more than four times the legal limit.
However, he was not to the only person caught in the early hours of the morning.
Just one hour later, a 25-year-old Redan woman was busted in Delacombe at 2am.
She returned a breath test returned a reading of 0.111%.
Then, just an an hour and a half later at 3.30am in Ballarat, police intercepted a third driver, a 42-year-old Mt Clear man.
This driver underwent a breath test and returned a reading of 0.117%.
All drivers had their licences suspended and will be charged on summons with drink driving and other traffic matters.
