LEXTON defender Kerri-Anne Lockhart has won the Lyn Bibby Medal as the Lexton Plains Football Netball League's senior best and fairest player by just one vote from a three-way tie.The 30-year-old goal defence accumulated 30 votes at last night's LPFNL count at the Ballarat Leagues Club, to edge out Navarre shooter Jess Parry, Carngham-Linton defender Tracey Dawson and Natte-Bealiba's Ingrid Hopkins, all on 29 points.Lockhart said she was genuinely surprised to take home the award, against three netballers she described as "all very good players"."I didn't think I had that great a year. I was just happy to get through uninjured," Lockhart admitted."They (Parry, Dawson and Hopkins) are all very good. I might have expected all three to beat me on the night."From a team perspective we're looking pretty good this year. We've finished on top in previous seasons, and haven't won the grand final since, so maybe it's better to come at it from fourth."Lockhart entered the final round of voting leading Parry by one vote, with Dawson and Hopkins four votes adrift. While Dawson and Hopkins each scored three votes in the final round, both Lockhart and Parry failed to increase their tallies.
