Damaging winds are expected hit Ballarat on Monday night as a bitter cold front brings wild weather to the region.

A severe weather warning has been issued for Ballarat overnight, with the city expected to cop the full force of the windy weather.
Winds averaging 50-60km/h are expected to hit the area this evening, with gusts of 100km/h even possible.
The warning comes just days after Ballarat recorded its coldest July day ever.
Elevated areas in the state (above 1000m) are expecting winds averaging 60-70km/h, with peak gusts of in excess of 120 km/h possible.
Locations which may be affected include Ballarat, Warrnambool, Seymour, Maryborough, Geelong and Melbourne and all alpine resorts.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
- Keep clear of fallen power lines;
