SPRING will be at its best in Ballarat this weekend as the 12th annual SpringFest carnival gets underway.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Ballarat and volunteers, the festival is expected to draw thousands to the banks of Lake Wendouree in expected sunny Spring conditions.
Events will include the 2012 Mega Meets Outrigger Canoe Regatta, the Harvey World International Travel festival, live music, cultural activities and international food. SpringFest director Frank Cotronea encouraged community members to come out in force today and tomorrow.
“We have been preparing for this year’s SpringFest for nearly the whole 12 months and have a great line up of events and activities for the whole weekend,” he said.
“Teams from all over Victoria are coming to the regatta on Sunday and we will have a miniature version of Sovereign Hill .”
