Chickenfeed to stay open at Stockland Wendouree

THE Chickenfeed discount store at Stockland Wendouree is expected to continue trading despite its corporate owners being placed into administration.

More than 400 employees of the Retail Adventures groups are expected to lose their jobs when brands including Crazy Clark’s, Sam’s Warehouse and Chickenfeed went into voluntary administration last week.

A spokesperson for administrators Deloitte said the Stockland Wendouree store was expected to be rebranded in coming months and no job losses were planned.

Staff at the store would not confirm how many employees worked at the store.

The spokesperson said 210 Retail Adventures employees were made redundant in the lead up to the administration.

More than 30 stores will close by the end of the month in every state except Western Australia and Tasmania, with a large number in New South Wales.

The first creditors meeting for the Retail Adventures group will be held on Wednesday, November 7.
