AUDIENCES are set to be bewitched when the University of Ballarat Arts Academy presents Macbeth.
The 17th century Shakespeare classic will come to life at Camp St this Saturday for six performances only.
About 17 third-year theatre performance students have been honing their supernatural skills for six weeks.
Director Mary Sitarenos said the result was an eerie but beautiful work of poetic theatre.
"t's a classic story - a hero who has a flaw and that flaw is his desire to become king and basically we really witness the unravelling of the hero - the fall of the hero," she said.
The performance also combines the expertise of four theatre production students.
Macbeth opens at the Helen Macpherson Smith Theatre at Camp St tomorrow at 8pm and runs until Saturday June 25. Tickets are $20 for adults, $14.50 concession and $12 for students.
Group discounts apply.
