Like It Is goes after group glory

LIKE It Is goes for group one glory on the opening day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington today.A group two and three winner for Ballarat trainer Darren Weir, Like It Is is out to take the next big step against some of the best mares in the country in the $500,000 Myer Classic, 1600m.The six-year-old is coming off two promising efforts, including a last start third in the group two Tristarc Stakes, and is well suited by the weight-for-age conditions.Even more significantly, she is racing over her favourite distance, having won three of four starts over 1600m - including her two group victories.
