BALLARAT’S St Cecilia Singers will present a special Christmas concert tomorrow, with sacred and secular music for all to enjoy. Beginning with cantata Born a King, the concert will be conducted by Noel Craven and accompanied by organist Deidre Foyster. The special performance, to be held at the Neil Street Uniting Church will be narrated by Roland Rocchiccioli and will feature a selection of traditional Christmas carols.St Cecilia Singers secretary Loris Mee said the group had been practising for months. “We usually do three shows each year and we started practising for Christmas just after our mid-year performance in August. “The church is a lovely place to perform and members of the audience will recognise the tunes of many of our songs, but they wil have different arrangements,” she said. Tickets for the performance are $20 for adults, or $15 for students and concessions. To purchase a presale ticket, please call the St Cecilia Singers secretary on 5332 4195.
