ARTISTS from all over the world will gather at Beaufort in just a few weeks time, for the annual Rainbow Serpent Festival. The open-air trance festival is in its 15th year and this year organisers hope the festival will be bigger than ever.Since its debut in 1997, Rainbow Serpent has grown from a small gathering in a secluded clearing to a permanent site that accommodates thousands of people.Organiser Tim Harvey said he expected people to travel from all over Victoria to attend this year’s event.Mr Harvey said dedicated groups of fans from Cairns, Western Australia and even Japan and New Zealand made the road trip for the festival.Festival-goers can expect to see more than 100 artists across a range of music genres, including progressive trance, electro, house, breaks, dub and ambient. The festival will also include roving artist performances and a market village. The event will run from January 27 to 30. Tickets are available to purchase at the gate or before the event online at www.rainbowserpent.net.
