LEGENDS of Australian rock and roll INXS took top billing at Ballarat’s Kryal Castle on Saturday night. Headlining the Red Hot Summer Tour alongside Vanessa Amorosi and James Reyne, the band delighted long-time fans at the medieval venue with new lead singer Ciaran Gribbin stealing the show. In its fourth year, the tour aims to bring Australia’s best live acts to regional Victoria and Saturday’s concert didn’t disappoint. INXS devotees used the concert to celebrate the birthday of original lead singer Michael Hutchence, who died in 1997.Click the image to view the photo gallery
Fan Kim Bonney said the performance was “awesome.”“Thank you INXS so much for putting on an amazing, never to be forgotten show,” she said. Gribbin joined the band in September following the departure of Canadian singer J.D. Fortune.The Northern-Irish singer-songwriter demonstrated his wealth of experience, having worked with Paul McCartney, Madonna, Paul Oakenfold, Snow Patrol and Groove Armada. Fan Sue Pavey said the gig was one of the best live performances she could remember.“Loved every minute of the show,” she said. “It was totally awesome.”
