THE iconic Begonia parade will get bigger and better with three Ballarat institutions joining hands for a float.Ballarat Ballet Centre and Lifeline Ballarat with the support of Beechworth Bakery will base their float on the nursery rhyme The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe. The float aims to build awareness of Lifeline’s initiative Family Stress Down Day, held in July every year. Ballarat Begonia Festival will celebrate its 60th anniversary this year between March 10 and 12. Ballarat Ballet Centre director Justine Morris said they were thrilled to join forces with Lifeline and be associated with the important message.“We both share a belief that by living a healthy, active life we can reduce stress among adults and children alike,” Ms Morris said.Beechworth Bakery manager Belinda Pearce said the business would donate a total of $3000 of money and goods to the float. The Courier Begonia Parade will take place on Monday, March 13, at 11am along Wendouree Parade.
