POLICE caught an Ararat teenager driving at 150km/h with two people in the car’s boot at the weekend.The 19-year-old man was caught on the Western Highway at Langi Ghiran on Saturday.Police say they noticed the Holden Commodore allegedly travelling at 150km/h around 12.15am and moved to pull it over.They intercepted the car and found it was being driven by a 19-year-old with a P1 probationary licence.Police checked the car and found there were four other occupants in the car, plus another two people travelling in the boot.Talk the Toll Down - Pledge your support
The driver has been interviewed for a number of driving offences including conduct endangering life, speeding and driving outside licence conditions.Police say the two travelling in the boot will receive penalty notices for travelling in a part of a car “not designed for the carriage of passengers.”The man’s car was impounded for 30 days and he is expected to be charged on summons.
