POLICE arrested a man in Creswick Road yesterday after several members of the public called in complaints about him walking around carrying a 30cm kitchen knife.
Police said the 58-year-old Ballarat man dumped the knife in a bin near Bunnings Warehouse early yesterday afternoon.
He was arrested outside The Courier office about 1.45pm and was issued with an infringement notice.
Police said the man found the knife, and did not endanger any members of the public.
Acting Sergeant Corey Fraser said passersby did the right thing in alerting police.
