SPONGEBOB SquarePants, Marge Simpson and even a couple of Avatars created a spectacle yesterday while raising money for a Ballarat school.
About 900 Mt Clear College students participated in the school’s annual walkathon, dressing for the occasion as characters from movies and television.
Mt Clear College leading teacher in community partnership Judi Eppingstall said the students, who walked from the school to the Botanical Gardens at Buninyong, ended the day with sore feet and some blisters, along with a big sense of pride and achievement.
The students were sponsored by family and friends, with all money raised to go towards the landscaping of the college gardens.
“We’re hoping to raise $4000 or $5000 this year,” Ms Eppingstall said.
