The celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Geelong-Ballarat railway opening was marred by the absence of a steam locomotive, as previously advertised.
As I understand it Ballarat City Council would not contribute to the cost of the steam locomotive for heritage ceremonies but they can waste much more of our (ratepayers) money on failed projects such as the failed sale yards debacle to which the people of Learmonth did not want. How many millions over all did that cost?
At least it was good to see the VR "T" Class 364 (diesel) with the wooden ABE carriages.
Now all that has to be done is to get the passenger service from Ballarat-Geelong-Ballarat up and running again.
