BALLARAT'S Avenue of Honour will receive $7,700 in state government funding to restore and replace 55 damaged and missing name plaques.
Liberal Member for Western Victoria Simon Ramsay said the Arch of Victory/Avenue of Honour Committee would receive the funding under the Restoring Community War Memorial Grants program.
Under the same program, Meredith's War Memorial will receive $10,000, for a project to clean the existing memorial and provide safer access for ceremonies.
Ballarat and Meredith are among 43 communities across the state sharing in more than $240,000 worth of grants.
"Places like the Avenue of Honour play an important role in remembering the stories of our local service men and women," Mr Ramsay said.
"That’s why grants like these are so important. They provide practical support so communities can keep their memorials in the best condition, ensuring local servicemen and women and their stories of courage and mateship are never forgotten." he said.
Under last year's grants, districts to receive funding for their memorials included Miners Rest, Addington, Dowling Forest, Learmonth and Weatherboard.
