CHFL: Daylesford storms home to beat old foes Hepburn

DAYLESFORD produced a stunning come-from-behind performance to snatch a four-point victory over arch-rivals Hepburn today.

The Bulldogs were seemingly dead and burried mid-way through the final term when they trailled the Burras by more than four goals.

However, the home side hit back through majors to Sam Winnard, Trent Nesbitt (both via 50m penalties), coach Andrew Button and Sebastian Walsh to draw within striking distance, before Button goalled again to put his team in front after 22 minutes.

A string of passes saw Lee Cox regain the lead for Hepburn, but in a frantic finale, Nesbitt kicked truly from just inside the 50m arc to steal a thrilling victory.

Other round three winners today were Skipton over Ballan, Springbank against Illabarook, Bungaree away to Rokewood-Corindhap, Newlyn in an upset over Buninyong, Clunes easily against Learmonth, Beaufort after a bit of a fight with Creswick and Waubra, which pulled away from Carngham-Linton after half time.

Gordon hosts Dunnstown in the final match of the round tomorrow.
