Man hospitalised after crash near Clunes

A 50-YEAR-OLD Maryborough man was taken to hospital this morning after his car rolled near Clunes.

It is believed he was travelling along Clunes-Maryborough Road, five kilometres north of Clunes, when he lost control and flipped his car, which ended up on its roof.

There were no other cars involved in the accident.

They were not required to free the man, although they remained at the accident for almost two hours as they cleared the scene and conducted a flare-off of the gas-fuelled car.

The man had left his vehicle when police arrived and was found a short time later on the side of the road walking towards Maryborough.

The driver was taken to the Ballarat Base Hospital and although his injuries were not yet known, they were not believed to be serious.
