PROMISING stayer Hurdy Gurdy Man has gained a run in today's listed $200,000 Warrnambool Cup, 2350m.
The Darren Weir-trained Hurdy Gurdy Man was third emergency.
All four emergencies will start as a result of four scratchings, including Weir's impressive Magnifique Soleil.
Hurdy Gurdy Man, to be ridden by Ben Melham, and Magnifique Soleil were impressive winners for Weir on the first day of the Warrnambool May Carnival on Tuesday.
Hurdy Gurdy Man ran away with the last event, a 0-78 handicap over the cup distance of 2350m in effortless style.
Weir is shooting for the carnival trainers' bonus of a Mercedes Benz, which goes to a trainer who wins four races including one of four nominated feature events.
Weir has had four winners to date <0x2013> a treble on Tuesday and one yesterday.
He needs either Pay The Aces to take out the Grand Annual Steeplechase, 5500m, or Hurdy Gurdy Man to win to drive away in the new car.
