IT is the chance to give people better information and improve their lives that draws Professor Erica Smith to reserach the delivery of vocational education and training.
The University of Ballarat researcher was recently honoured by her peers and awarded a Berwyn Clayton Award for Distinuguished Service for her role with the Australian Vocational Education and Training Research Association (AVETRA).
“Vocational Education and Training (VET) is an interesting area for research,” Professor Smith said.
“It is so varied and there is so much that happens in the VET sector that affects ordinary people in their lives.
Professor Smith, who currently convenes the experienced researchers’ group, has been a member of the AVETRA National Executive Committee for 10 years.
