TAC Cup: Rebels line-up bolstered

JAKE Lloyd and Louis Herbert will bolster the North Ballarat Rebels line-up to meet Northern Knights in the TAC Cup at Ballarat’s Eureka Stadium on Sunday.

Lloyd returns after playing as 23rd man for the North Ballarat Roosters against Casey Soprions in the VFL, while Herbert was a late withdrawal with injury last round.

The Rebels get an opportunity to consolidate what has already been a solid start to the under-18 season.

Just the one glitch in three outings has the Rebels sitting comfortably in third position behind Sandringham and Gippsland. If North Ballarat can come out of this game with the premiership points the outlook will be bright ahead of clashes with Oakleigh. Murray and Gippsland.

Northern has not enjoyed the best of runs. Its only win came against the struggling Eastern Ranges.

The Knights did give Murray a run for its money, but they will need to pick up their game. This is only the Rebels’ second game at Eureka Stadium for the season, but this will change.

Four of their next five games are at the ground. This match coincides with the Rebels’ sponsors’ and family day.

The Rebels and Northern Knights are urging all eligible players on L-plates to drive to the game. This TAC Cup initiative encourages all players to continue to log their hours of practice to gain their required 120 hours on the roads.
