The Rebels kept stepping up their game each quarter, finishing in a nine-goal to one final term.

Dallas Willsmore booted six goals and Louis Herbert kicked five in an impressive and strong marking forward combination.

Ballarat Rush lost in a tight finish by three points at the Minerdome on Saturday night.

Hobart held off a desperate Rush three-point attempt to level scores with three seconds on the clock.

Rush trailed by six points at half-time but clawed back strong to pinch the lead half-way through the third quarter, sparking a nail-biting finish in which neither team could get a clear break.

Nat Taylor (15 points), Kate Willey (15 points, six rebounds) and Andrea McMahon (14 points) had the biggest impact on the scoreboard for Rush.

MEN

Hobart proved too strong for the all-Australian Miners outfit at the Minerdome on Saturday night.

The Chargers impressed the crowd with precise perimetre shooting, nailing 14 three-pointers from 24 attempts, including six three-pointers from Deba George (20 points).

They surged ahead in a dominant final term, forcing the Miners to fumble and struggling to score under pressure.
