I READ with interest the controversy of the Ballarat Aquatic Centre complex.
I have used the pool, five days per week for the past 11 years.
In November, 2010, I wrote a letter to the manager, outlining my concern about the appalling state of cleanliness of the 25m pool, i.e. Band-Aids, medical dressings etc. and general rubbish which lies on the bottom of the pool until it breaks down, making the water cloudy and creating a less than ideal environment to swim in.
Action was taken and the water condition improved but, over the last two years, this has declined.
I am told the water is kept to health standards.
I swim early mornings and would expect, after overnight vacuuming and filtration, the water should be of excellent quality with the previous day's rubbish removed.
All I ask is value for increasing fees and a healthy environment to swim in.
On a positive note. Great coffee from the cafe staff. Keep it up.
